This year’s Maifest in MainStrasse Village will mark the 25th anniversary of the Linden Noll Gift Haus. Preserving the owner’s German heritage has been the focus from the beginning, and still is today. Many second and third generation German-Americans are hungry to learn of their background and lost traditions.

Traveling to Europe to find authentic and unusual pieces has been a source of pride for Dolores and her husband Dave. European craftsmen are still there…just a bit harder to find as the ranks are dwindling. The unification of Germany and the introduction of the Euro have both played a big part in the economy as well as the availability of true crafts. Even so, Linden Noll is packed—every corner is loaded with treasures from the past and present. Coming into the festival season, the concentration is on party treats, German and Austrian CD’s, hats, beer steins and brewery glasses in all shapes and sizes! Wedding planners and shoppers will find a variety of gifts and accessories seldom found elsewhere. Wedding cups and steins as well as ornaments and other favors are on hand.

Cincinnati Magazine has awarded Linden Noll “Best Christmas Store” and, in 2007, “Best Old World Toy Store”. Children’s toys and books, even some in German, have proven popular with parents and grandparents alike. No batteries or computers involved! Beautiful Russian nesting dolls, Polish boxes, Italian and German wood carvings and a large selection of distinctive nativity sets, all mingle with a multitude of European blown glass ornaments. The traditional, hand crafted, paper mache figures and candy containers along with Christmas pyramids provide the best in nostalgia. Outstanding German nutcrackers and smokers in a variety of styles and sizes await, along with the famous Steiff collector bears and other adorable animals. Toys from Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic happily share shelf space with the likes of Raggedy Ann and Andy and Winnie the Pooh.

Reproduction Victorian cards and scraps are featured year-round, as well as cards, decorating, and gift items for all Holidays, from Valentine’s Day through New Years!

For that trip back in time, visit Linden Noll Gift Haus. You will be greeted by Dolores or her sisters dispensing detailed information about the many items available, as well as that personal service many retailers are now foregoing. So, stop by some time and you might just get to see Delores getting a little sun outside on the steps to her store and have the opportunity to ask her questions. Special order requests, phone orders and next day shipping are always available. We hope to see you soon at the Tri-State area’s Old World Gift Shop!
